Blog Swapping with Kelly from Running with Glitter!!!

Can you believe it? My first blog swap!
I'm totally, crazy excited about not only swapping, but who I'm swapping with!
She is funny, talented, cute, writes a wonderful blog and just all around awesome. That, and she's sharing a fun summer project with you today. So here you go, meet Kelly...

Hi! I'm Kelly from Running With GlitterMomma to two and wife to one.
I'm just a simple girl from Oklahoma and a wee bit cheeky. I'd love to share a long list of the talents and accomplishments I have... But, my list is short and my life is very full of happiness.
Running With Glitter is a blog I created as an outlet to share and document my
crafting adventures. When I started the Glitter blog I never knew it would grow like it has and become so much to me.
I'm really excited to be a guest here today. Thank you so very much for having me!
If you get a chance I'd love for you to check out my blog.

Flip Flop Fun!

Today I'm going to share a super easy way to doll up your flip flops. These particular flip flops I made are to match my bathing suit. This is a great project that can be done with the kids. With a few scraps and and several knots your feet will be even cuter in no time!
Here is how you make them.....
  1. Supplies: Fabric Scraps, Pinking Shears or Scissors and Flip Flops
  2. Cup strips of fabric. I Cut mine 3/4 inch wide and about 3 inches long. You will need to adjust this to your taste. The wider strips will be fuller looking and the longer the strips you cut will make them fluffy.
  3. Tie a single knot
  4. Then keep tying , keep adding until you almost fill the strap up.
  5. Do the other side and tie some more.....
  6. Finished! Now slip on your new cute flip flops and head to the pool!

Happy Summer!

xoxo
Kelly

Super fun, right?
Kelly authors a great blog, so many fun ideas all in one great place. You should really check it out if you're not already familiar with her.
I'm over at her place sharing a fun summer picnic basket tutorial-

Tuesday Treats featuring...what I'm up to!

Sorry for the late post,
I've spent most of the day trying to recover from registering my little munchkin for kindergarten!
UGH! Why do they have to grow up?
To make it worse, she lost her first two teeth too! Yeah, not just one but TWO.

The 2nd one fell out while she was changing into her jammas, amid the shock and awe we failed to finish putting on her jammas, hence the topless picture.
I also had to (finish) my post for Wood You Like to Craft? because it's that time again.
This month's project is being hosted by Candace and Nicole from
 Crafty Sisters...
Toolbox Planter

it's a GREAT beginner project if you're wanting to jump on board the WYLTC? band wagon.
Coming up with a way to alter it was hard because I just really like it the way it is,
I'm a sucker for tulips!
You can see what I did tomorrow...

And speaking of those Crafty Sisters, they completely inspired my Easter baskets this year...

As I was putting these together, I think lightening seriously struck!
How great would these be for a teacher appreciation/year end teacher gift?
Okay, so not with the bunny, but how about with this...

...or maybe this...

These are actually my preschool diploma albums.
(I'll share those with you too)
But I'm thinking they would make some pretty cute baskets.
So that's where I'm at, working on putting the tutorial and patterns together...wish me luck, hopefully they'll be up tomorrow!

Tuesday Treats featuring...a little Spring & some more Green!

I have a confession.
My brain has already moved on to Easter. In fact,  Mother's Day has even been sneaking into my thoughts lately.
I needed to bring myself back to the here and now so I set out to find some truly awesome
Spring/St. Patrick's Day goodies...
(do you decorate for St. Pat's? It's new for me but I'm really enjoying it!)

Okay up first, is this SUPER cute printable...

I first saw this on another linky party, and was then thrilled when I found it linked to my own!
You can download this piece of cuteness at
Funky Polkadot Giraffe

Need a super cheap (if not free) St. Patrick's Day wreath?
Give this a try...
It's made from paint chips and a form cut from a cardboard box!
My kiddo's would LOVE making this and then hanging it on their bedroom doors.
You can find the tutorial over at
Who's Watching the Baby?

Have I ever mentioned how much I love glass jars and containers? And OH! Apothecary jars, they seriously make me weak in the knees!
I love the beauty, texture, and simplicity of these...
These babies would look fantastic on a mantle or side table!
Visit Two Twenty One for the specifics on putting these together.

For a touch of much needed "Spring" give this project a try...

Now real butterflies totally creep me out-the paper kind though, I really like! They can't stare at me with those big buggy eyes...I love the colors and the "airy" feel this piece gives. Makes me think sunny, bright days are right around the corner!
This project and tutorial can be found at
The Crafty Scientist

Hope this helps to bring a little Spring to your day!
And a little f.y.i. Did you know March is National Craft Month?
Yep, that's right, not just a day but an entire month to not need an excuse to craft. So I say let's all show a little crafting pride and make this one busy, creative month! Go on and make something amazing-it's your job as a citizen of this nation! (The calendar says so...)

Tuesday Treats featuring...Grand Central Station Planning Binder!

Tuesday Treats...
I felt like "normal" had returned to my life last week, unless you count the weird weather, but then if something crazy didn't happen, it wouldn't be a normal week.
 My point?
I like normal, and I'm really beginning to like being scheduled.
{Do you remember that was part of my 2011 challenge to myself-to prioritize!}
Well, this little ramble-fest is bringing me to a fantastic link that was shared on Friday...

Tuesday Treats featuring...Close to my Heart Giveaway! {CLOSED}

I am SO excited to introduce you to another one of my sponsors. If you are a scrapbooker this line of product might be very familiar to you, if not, let me introduce you to
Sharesa and Close To My Heart
Sharesa is an independent sales consultant for Close To my Heart and absolutely LOVES what she does!
Close to my Heart is a company dedicated to helping you preserve and make memories through easy to accomplish layouts, cards and albums.
The two are a perfect pair.

To be honest, I had never used the product before Sharesa sent me some to play around with. I love scrapbook paper! I am a horrible scrapbooker, but oh do I love a pretty paper! I use it all the time. She sent me paper from the Wings collection.
It is really beautiful paper! Bright and fun colors, full of  butterflies, damask, polka dots and the greens and blues are just the right shade to match my little girls {desperately in need of decorations} bedroom. I have a few projects to share with you tomorrow...

Close To My Heart’s product line is designed to accommodate the needs of novice and expert crafters alike. With scrapbooking products in Levels 1, 2, and 3, there is something for everyone at every stage of crafting, beginner to rock star.
I did some serious checking out of this company and really liked what I found. The stamp sets are fantastic{and acrylic}, the papers are beautiful {and double sided},
and they have some super ideas and projects to share.
Plus a digital page creator system that allows you to design your pages online using their papers and embellishments!
{You can check out Studio J here , play around with a page design for free by clicking on the "not ready to create an account" link}

The Workshops On The Go are neat, they come with everything you need to complete several 12x12 page layouts, cards and projects to match! And the best part in my opinion-they come with an idea book that includes all the instructions for completing the projects!
 {Check out the pictures in this post, they all come from the Wings kit...}

Sharesa is so excited to share this company and its products with us she is sponsoring a great giveaway.
You can choose between receiving a
 Wings Workshop On The Go...
The Wings Workshop on the Go comes with Wings level 2 paper packet (12 double sided patterned paper and 10 coordinating white core cardstocks), an exclusive stamp set to the kit, mini-medley accent in black (a collection of black embellishments) a spray pen and a workshop guide.
Click the link to really check it out!

or

Tuesday Treats featuring...YOU!

Another great weekend of fantastic links, and HOORAY! we grew!!! You all seriously ROCK my little world and make it a happier place to be-

Thanks again to all of you that shared your goodies, here's a few I've added to my list of things to try...

First let me say this is ADORABLE! Second let me tell you it came from toilet paper rolls!
I have seen some amazing things popping up out there made from those little cardboard rolls-this has to be one of my favorites. I to this point, only recycle them. Guess I need to rethink my "green" ways.
You can find this and pictures of the inside pages at
 Cherished Treasures.

This next one is screaming at me...MAKE ME NOW!!!
We don't have a lot of rain or snow here in our part of Texas, but for some reason we have a ton of mud {and saw dust-I do all my cutting on the back patio!}that finds it's way in through the back door.
This would be so much prettier than the ugly rug that's there now.
Find the tutorial to make this shoe/boot tray at
Clean and Scentsible

And this, is sheer brilliance in my book!
Homemade Bathtub Paints.
Maybe it's because I have a painter in my home that paints everything but what should be painted, wait-she's 3 and shouldn't be anywhere near the darn paint! But, this little gem gives me hope, as it's washable it means less ruined everything! Plus, it would make a great gift.
A super tutorial on how to make these can be found at
Our Seven Dwarfs

and last, every woman needs a great bag {or two or three...}
and I want this one!
You need to go read Amy's post, would you have ever guessed this was not how it was supposed to look?
She shares the link to the pattern and a great story at
Ameroonie Designs

Amazing! Thanks again to all of you for linking, I love getting to know and visit more of your blogs.
