Hi! I'm Leigh Ann. I write a blog I call "This and That". It's about all the mommish things I do - sewing, recipes, kiddo boredom busters etc. Here's one of my favorite projects I recently did.
A friend gave me this Gap skirt but it was too short for my modesty. It was sitting in my Goodwill bin but I just couldn't get rid of it. Then my I found this XL shirt my dad had given me and decided to use the fabric to put a ruffle on the bottom!
I found a pattern for this flower here. I really think it ties together with the ruffle well!I measured the bottom of the front and back of the skirt x2 (you need to have double the fabric to ruffle it) and my desired length to figure out how much fabric I needed for the ruffle and then I cut that shirt to shreds! The finished product! Click on the picture to see it bigger. I just LOVE it! I've gotten so many comments on this skirt!
Such a great idea, I love ruffles on grown up girls too!
Leigh Ann is an amazing crafter and home schooling momma. She shares a ton of her lessons and projects on her blog.
In her words...
"My kids and I have had a lot of fun studying World Geography this past year. Take a look at some of what we've done!"
Thanks so much Leigh Ann!
Happy Crafting.
