An Ornament A Day & Giveaway!!! {CLOSED}

I am SO excited it's November! I love this time of year. And normally I would revel in everything fall, stretch it out the entire month-soak up every second of crispness! But not this year. This year I am thinking ahead! I am joining the rest of the retail world and moving into December. Okay, so maybe not that bad,but I am giving it a jump start. And here's why...

Every December,my dear friend holds the most wonderful cookie/ornament exchange party ever! It is one of my favorite nights of the entire year. I have been in mourning since April when I found out I was moving away from her and her party. First I cried, then I got mad, then I cried a little more, and then I realized I still had to be a part of it somehow. Lightening struck about a month ago! I made myself wait until now to act on it, but I figured it out and I'm inviting all of you to be a part of it as well. So here's the G.M.P. {grand master plan!}...

In preparation for this I am going to feature a new ornament on this blog EVERY DAY of November! That's 30 ornaments! They will be fun, crazy, quick, easy, personalized, kid-friendly, you name it, you'll find it here this month. Some I will post as tutorials, others as kits that can be purchased, some that I've come across from other places and added my own twist to. Whatever they are, it's going to be fun.

The first good part is that at the end of the month
one of you is going to win
ALL 30 ORNAMENTS!!!
 Yep, that's right-- all 30 ornaments, finished and ready for your tree come December. I'm making this one easy, to enter just leave a comment on this post. That's it, just share something. Share with us anything that makes this time of year magic to you.  The winner will be announced on December 1st. {That seems so far away right now but I know it will get here fast! So don't wait!}

You're amazing, Wendy. Where you find the time I'll never know. I'm throwing my hat into the ring to win all of your adorable ornaments because I know that with my new high ceilings the hubster is going to make me get a big old Christmas tree and then I'm going to need to fill it. Wish me luck!

I'm so super excited about the ornament exchange! Ornaments are a BIG deal at my house. Each Christmas Eve my mother gives every child / grandchild a new ornament. My family packs them away until the NEXT Christmas.... we don't even take them out of the boxes to look at them! Our kids get so excited when it's time to put their "new" ornament on the tree. We talk about all the ornaments they have gotten, who they are from, why they are special and on and on. When my children marry (they are 13,11,8 and 4 1/2) I will be packing up all of their very own ornaments to place on their new family Christmas tree!

I just found your blog, and can I just say that I love you! You have AWESOME ideas! And I really appreciate that you consider the average joe while assembling your crafts! Thank You! You help to give me the confidence that I can be creative! And as for the Holiday Season . . . my favorites are the traditions, the magic in children's eyes when they see christmas trees lit up, the feeling of love and kindness and all the service that happens throughout the season. It seems there is no other holiday that can bring people together like Christmas!

I love the feeling during Christmas. A good friend once told me it was like a warm blanket was wrapped around you during the Holidays!

This is such a great idea! I am really starting to get into the holiday spirit.
I love the first family ornament.
Thanks for the ideas, and how easy they are!
Favorite traditions, just enjoying as much time together with my family. And a favorite food: Naniamo Bars. So good, and so fattening!

Christmas ornaments are a tradtition in my family. Growing up I would get a homemade one every other year from my Aunt. I still have them all. My sister has carried on the tradition and my kids look forward to their new ornament every year. This exchange is a fabulous idea!

Christmas is my very favorite!! And I love the ornaments you've made so far. I had no idea the polymer clay ornaments were so easy!!!

My mom also gave us an ornament every year for Christmas when we were young, it sounds like it is a popular tradition with many families. I love making crafts & all your ideas are so cute and affordable. I love Christmas, there is a magical spirit in the air during the last month of every year. Sharing & giving special gifts helps you to share a piece of your heart with others.

Oh, I miss you!!! How about I win your ornaments and you bring them to me in person?!?!? I can't think of just one thing I love about Christmas - I love the entire time. I love the rest of the year just because it is leading up to Christmas! I think it's just the giant warm fuzzy pine tree smelling pepper-minty fire crackling little happy smiling faces magical feeling I get the entire time. I guess MAGIC would be the word for me. Makes me happy just thinking about it. Love you! J

What's not to love about Christmas! As a kid I remember our Christmas Advent calendar. Now as a mom I use that same calendar to do lots of fun things with my kiddo's. I love how it allows us to spend a little extra time each day as a family doing something together like looking at lights or making some fun Christmas craft or reading a Christmas story.
The 2nd thing that makes it magic would have to be the fun holiday baking. Another fun tradition I love letting my little ones help out with!

Thanks for all the wonderful ornament tutorials! Some of these are a must for our Advent this year!

Hi! What a wonderful blog you have! Seeing all your beautiful ornaments has gotten me so excited about Christmas. I love everything about this time of year-- the excitement and anticipation! The goodies! The decoration! The wrapping of presents! The mailing and receiving cards! I would host an ornament exchange party if I could sort out how (I'll give this some thought, it seems like such a fantastic idea!)

Thank you :-)

Having 2 brand new grandchildren will really make this a special time of year for us! It's the children that really light up this season!

These are such great ideas! Thank you, Thank you! My husband laughs at me because I insist on our tree being "home-made", except the lights that is and these are great additions my girls can help make. Thank you again!

I just stumbled on your blog and am feeling very lucky for it. I used to make everyone in my family a special handmade ornament, but as the kids got older I got away from it. You have given me a surge of inspiration just in time to renew that family tradition. With a long weekend and a short week at school I'll have NO excuses not to get started right away. Thank you from my heart!

I love how loving and warm and friendly the world seems to be around Christmas! I love the music and the smells, oh I just love it all! Thanks Wendy and I agree with others that you should deliver these in person if at all possible! You are amazing!

Hello. My name is Michelle and i learned about your blog just a few minutes ago (from Mod Podge Rocks blog). It's a wonderful blog!
I am with you in saying that it's tough to move to a different place when we're already settled in one. I moved to the US to be with my husband. We've been married for 22 months and this will be our first Christmas together. I have mixed emotions - sad to tno spend it with my parents and sister but totally happy that i'll be spending it with hubby.
Looking forward to spend Chrismtas season with new found "cyber" friends. Blessings!

I love watching people hurry through places, especially kids, excited to be getting or doing something for someone else. It seems like people are happier and friendlier during this season. I think when we choose to remember Christ and act as he would our lives are naturally happier and more joyful!
p.s. - I love your blog! Such great stuff!

These are the cutest ornaments. So far the paper strip bulbs are my favorite; I'm going to have to try them. I love that most of these are so simple to make. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love your blog! And thanks for the chance to win all these great ornaments :) My favorite thing about Christmas is really the whole feeling of it. The excitement you feel leading up to it, the love you feel for your family and how it's strengthened when you focus on the love the Savior has for you, and the joy from my kids with all the different activities you can do leading up to Christmas day. It doesn't matter if you are the richest person in the world or the poorest person in the world, you can make this holiday something they will always remember!

How awesome! I would love to win some ornaments for my tree. This year has been particularly special, as I finally have gotten my 3 year old into Christmas music. He asks me to put it on the radio, and knows when it's playing. It makes me very happy.

What a great giveaway. I love this time of year because it's the season of giving, though I don't think giving should be relegated to just one season. I also love the lights, the music, the baking, and the giving of unexpected gifts to deserving people.

What a great idea! We just moved away from our friends and family also. Such is the life of the military. We were going through our ornaments tonight and I mentioned to my husband how ratty some of them are looking. I would love to win a new bunch of ornaments since I am in Japan where the selection is quite sparse. I wish I would have found your blog a month ago to take part in the exchange. Thank you so much for sharing your talents!

I just love all your handmade ornaments. I have in the past made ornaments for my coworkers at my school for Christmas. Although I haven't made any recently for my coworkers, I still make homemade ornaments for my family at Christmas. For the most part, I try to make something that has to do with the birth of Jesus so I especially like your nativity, wisemen, shepherds and angel ornaments.

Thanx for all your creative ideas.

Merry Christmas

I found your blog through U-Create with Kids. I LOVE you ideas! I just got married in August and this will be our first Christmas as a married couple. I wanted to find a special ornament for this year, and I think I will attempt to make your nativity ornament set (unless I win the giveaway!). Thanks so much for the great ideas!
Merry Christmas!

You are so creative and crafty. Our favorite holiday tradition is going to my family's house on Christmas eve and doing the same thing every year. It's nice to create new traditions but I love the ones that endure throughout the years and generations.

I love everything about Christmas! I love the lights, the colors, the smells, eating so much junk food it makes you sick, and best of all spending time with your family and remembering the blessing that we have. This year will be a new and exciting time for me, because I get to celebrate my first Christmas with my husband and his family...now my family! We have talked and talked about different traditions that our families do and one that we decided to carry on this year was the 12 days of Christmas! I am so excited! I love this time of year to remember Christ and all that he has done for us! I love the time of year to go out of your way to serve others, especially those who are in struggling times! As the old song sings, "It's the most wonderful time of the Year!"
